Description

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) and Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU) assignment. This position requires a highly skilled critical care nurse with recent cardiovascular ICU experience who is comfortable caring for post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Unit Details

Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU)

  • 4-bed specialized critical care unit
  • Provides care for adult and geriatric patients
  • Focus on post-operative recovery following cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical procedures
  • Advanced invasive hemodynamic monitoring
  • High-acuity critical care environment

Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU)

  • 8-bed stepdown unit
  • Specialized recovery care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
  • Supported by a dedicated cardiovascular educator
  • Emphasis on safe, comfortable, patient-centered recovery

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in the specialty area

Education

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required

Licensure

  • Active Alabama RN License or Compact RN License required
  • Temporary licenses are not accepted
  • Active NURSYS verification required

Required Certifications

  • AHA BLS (or American Red Cross equivalent)
  • AHA NIH Stroke Scale Certification
