🩺 Job Summary
As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering safe and effective radiation treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. You will also support patient simulation, education, and care coordination while ensuring accuracy and compliance in all treatment procedures.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Administer ionizing radiation treatments per physician prescription
- Perform patient simulation and treatment preparation
- Verify prescriptions, charts, patient identity, and treatment parameters
- Set up immobilization devices, field sizes, and equipment
- Monitor and document:
- Treatment doses and parameters
- Patient responses and reactions
- Daily, progress, and discharge notes
- Conduct X-rays, port films, and cerrobend block fabrication
- Provide patient education and support throughout treatment
- Maintain treatment rooms, equipment, and inventory
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
✅ Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- ARRT (RT-T) Certification – Required
- Active State License (if applicable)
- BLS (AHA)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Radiation therapy procedures
- Patient care and safety protocols
- Documentation and compliance standards
