Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive infusions.
- Monitor patients receiving oncology treatments and assess for adverse reactions.
- Access and manage ports, PICC lines, and central venous access devices.
- Provide patient education regarding chemotherapy, side effects, and treatment plans.
- Administer antiemetics, corticosteroids, hormonal therapies, and supportive medications.
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis, sepsis, extravasation, and tumor lysis syndrome.
- Review laboratory results and communicate abnormal findings to providers.
- Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR.
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide care for patients with GU cancers, hematologic malignancies, and sarcomas.
Requirements
- Active RN License (Compact or Ohio License in hand).
- Minimum 2 years of Outpatient Clinic/Infusion Oncology RN experience.
- Previous travel experience required.
- Epic experience required.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current Chemotherapy Certification (ONS/ONCC) – Required.
- Experience administering chemotherapy and managing oncology patients.
