Step-Down / Progressive Care Unit (PCU/SDU) Registered Nurse

Day shift (06:00 AM–06:30 PM)

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license (state license where the job is located)
• Experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, step-down, or critical care nursing (often preferred or required)
• Strong ability to interpret cardiac telemetry/ECG rhythms
• Experience or competency in managing:
  • IV medications and infusions (drips)
  • Central lines and PICC lines
  • Oxygen therapy devices (HFNC, CPAP, BiPAP)
• Strong clinical assessment skills (cardiac, respiratory, neuro, hemodynamic)
• Ability to respond to rapid patient condition changes and escalate care appropriately
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork skills (multidisciplinary coordination)
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) — frequently required for step-down units
• Minimum 1–2 years of acute care experience (especially telemetry or ICU experience preferred for travelers)
