Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool
Location: Geneva General Hospital, 196 North St, Geneva, NY 14456
Duration: 13-Week Assignment
Schedule: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 Hours/Week (3x12s)
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Float Pool assignment. The ideal candidate must be comfortable floating between multiple units, including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Emergency Department (ED). Candidates must possess strong critical care skills and be able to adapt quickly to varying patient populations and clinical environments.
Schedule Requirements
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
- Holiday rotation required
- Two on-call shifts every 4 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med-Surg, Telemetry, Critical Care, ICU, or Emergency Department settings
- Critical care experience required
- Comfortable floating between Med-Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department units
Required Certifications
All certifications must be current and issued through the American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Additional Requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic medical records
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Emergency Nursing certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Facility Requirements After Hire
- Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months
- CPI certification within 90 days

Must be able to provide care for:
- Pediatric patients
- Adolescents
- Adults
- Geriatric patients

- Are you willing and able to float across Med-Surg, Emergency Department, and ICU units at Geneva General Hospital and/or Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital as needed?
