Schedule & Requirements

• Position: RN – Medical Oncology (17 James)
• Shift: Nights, 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Charting System: Epic
• Previous Travel Experience: Preferred

Required Experience

• Medical-Surgical Nursing
• Oncology Nursing (preferred, not required)
• Telemetry Monitoring
• Dysrhythmia Interpretation
• Blood Product Administration
• Central Line Blood Draws
• Port Access and Management
• Peripheral IV Insertion and Maintenance
• Isolation Precautions and PPE
• Adult and Geriatric Patient Care

Required Certifications

• BLS
• Active RN License (Compact or Ohio License in hand at submission)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with solid tumor cancers throughout diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and perform telemetry interpretation.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies.
• Access and manage ports, central lines, and peripheral IVs.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor responses to treatment.
• Implement infection prevention and fall-prevention protocols.
• Assist with chemotherapy-related care as appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and disease management.
• Document patient care accurately in Epic EMR.
• Float to other Med-Surg Oncology units as needed.
