Schedule & Requirements

• Position: CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts per week
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Setting: CVOR and Hybrid Cath Lab
• Radius Rule: Permanent residence must be at least 75 miles from the facility

Required Experience

• Recent CVOR Surgical Technologist experience (required)
• Cardiovascular/Heart Surgery procedures
• Hybrid Cath Lab experience preferred
• Experience scrubbing complex cardiovascular surgical cases
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Required Certifications

• Colorado Surgical Technologist License (DORA) – REQUIRED
• BLS (AHA)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA, AST, or NCCT

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to aseptic techniques.
• Assist surgeons during cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Anticipate surgical team needs and provide instruments and supplies efficiently.
• Prepare and manage specialized CVOR equipment and instruments.
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and surgical site preparation.
• Ensure proper handling and counting of instruments, sponges, and supplies.
• Support procedures performed in the Hybrid Cath Lab environment.
• Participate in rotating call coverage for emergency and after-hours cases.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility policies and safety standards.
