Travel RN – Med Surg/Telemetry (Pulmonary Unit) | Alabama
Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry – Pulmonary
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RN to join a specialized 36-bed Pulmonary Unit. This unit focuses on diagnosing and treating patients with a wide range of respiratory disorders and offers a collaborative environment with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, care management, and physical therapy teams.
Candidates must be flexible and willing to float to other units and affiliated hospitals based on staffing needs.
Job Details
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Holidays required as needed
- 13-week travel assignment
Unit Information
- 36-bed Pulmonary Telemetry Unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Specialized respiratory and pulmonary patient population
- Collaborative multidisciplinary care team
- EMR: Meditech
Requirements
- Active Alabama RN License or Compact RN License
- No temporary licenses accepted
- Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum)
- AHA BLS Certification or American Red Cross BLS
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of RN experience
- At least 1 year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience
- Must be willing to float between units and hospitals
Candidate Qualifications
- Strong clinical assessment and telemetry skills
- Experience caring for pulmonary and respiratory patients preferred
- Team-oriented and adaptable
- Excellent communication and patient care skills

- Updated resume with 7 years of employment history
- Explanation for all employment gaps
- One recent supervisor or charge nurse reference
- Current RN license and NURSYS verification
- Specialty skills checklist
- Social Security card for employment eligibility
- Contractor Attestation form
- Cover sheet including requested time off, available start date, and preferred schedule (36 or 48 hours)
