Job Title: Travel RN - Neuro Critical Care (ICU) - Days Location: Indianapolis, IN Facility: Franciscan Health Indianapolis

Job Description

Advance your critical care career at a top-tier facility in Indianapolis! We are seeking an experienced, highly detailed Neuro ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel contract at Franciscan Health.

This specialized 10-bed Neuro Critical Care unit treats high-acuity patients recovering from ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, post-op craniotomies, seizures, encephalopathy, and neurologic tumors. It is a fantastic, supportive environment with an emphasis on teamwork and clinical excellence.

Position Details

Start Date: 07/27/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Days (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM)
Schedule: 36 hours per week (0.9 position)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend commitment
On-Call: None!
Scrub Color: Navy Blue (No hoodies allowed)

Unit Specifics & Staffing Support

Capacity: 10-bed specialized unit
Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 (acuity dependent)
EMR: Epic
Advanced Equipment Used: Alaris Pumps, Arctic Sun, Prismax, EV 1000, and Neuroptics Pupillometer.

Requirements (No Exceptions)

Minimum 2 years of dedicated Neuro ICU core experience.
Must have advanced competencies: Comprehensive neurological/assessment skills, mechanical ventilator management, and care of hemodynamically unstable patients.
License/Certs: Active Indiana (IN) or Compact RN License, AHA BLS, and AHA ACLS.
Floating: Required to float to alternative inpatient areas during low census.

Preferred Skillset

Experience with External Ventricular Drains (EVD), ICP waveform management, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), and the Neuroptics Pupillometer is highly preferred.
Previous experience with Epic charting.
