Unit Type: Med/Surg with Telemetry
Beds: 34
Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
Patient Ratios:
- Typical: 1:6
- Max: 1:7 (only if needed)
Floating: Required (within Med/Surg units)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (6–7 shifts per contract)
On-Call: Yes (PRN low census)

🩺 Patient Diagnoses

You’ll care for a variety of adult Med/Surg patients, including:

Diabetes (DM)
Renal disease / Renal failure
Hypertension (HTN)
Coronary artery disease (CAD)
Stroke / CVA
Chest pain
Altered mental status (AMS)
➡️ All patients eligible for telemetry monitoring

🔍 Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality care in a Med/Surg & Telemetry setting
Monitor patients and respond to cardiac events & rapid response calls
Administer medications including insulin, heparin, PCA
Perform IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration
Provide wound care and infection prevention
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes

🧰 Skills & Experience

Required:

Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Med/Surg + Telemetry experience
Epic charting experience
Strong skills in patient assessment, IV therapy, and emergency response

Preferred:

Charge nurse experience
Experience with central lines, PICC lines, wound vacs, chest tubes
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring & dysrhythmia management

📜 Certifications & Licensure

Active SC RN License or Compact License (Required)
BLS (AHA) – Required
ACLS & NIHSS – Preferred
