Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – Travel Assignment

Location: Fremont, NE 68025

Shift Timing: Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)

Schedule: 3×12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/week

Contract Duration: 12 Weeks with possible extension

Start Date: ASAP

Position Overview:

Seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 12-week travel assignment in Fremont, Nebraska. This position provides respiratory care primarily to adult patients in an acute care environment, with occasional pediatric and neonatal stabilization responsibilities. The Respiratory Therapist will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams across Med-Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department settings while utilizing advanced respiratory equipment and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and administer respiratory treatments according to established protocols.
• Manage mechanical ventilators, BiPAP, heated high-flow oxygen therapy, and other respiratory support devices.
• Perform nebulizer treatments and provide inhaler education to patients.
• Draw and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Assist with intubation procedures as required.
• Perform EKGs during off-hours when the diagnostic department is unavailable.
• Provide respiratory care services for patients in Med-Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department settings.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, hospitalists, APRNs, and nursing staff.
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Active state license.
• Minimum one year of recent Respiratory Therapy experience.
• AHA - BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Preferred:

• Previous experience with Cerner charting system.

Schedule & Work Environment:

• 3×12-hour day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM).
• Every third weekend rotation.
• Types of patients (adults, peds, and neonates?): Mainly adults, some peds, rarely babies
• Block scheduling available based on departmental needs.
• No call requirements.
• Opportunity to pick up additional shifts as available.
• Travelers are expected to maintain scheduling flexibility.
