🚀 Travel RN – MedSurg/Tele (Nights)
Location: Shelby, NC (Atrium Health Cleveland)
Shift: 12-Hour Nights (1900–0700 / 1845–0715)
Duration: 13 Weeks | 36 Hours/Week

🏥 Facility & Unit Overview
Join a premier 241-bed, Level 3 Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center. You will be working on a fast-paced, 24-bed MedSurg/Tele Observation unit with an average daily census of 24, managing a dynamic mix of Cardiac, Respiratory, and Neuro patients.
Ratios & Team Support
- RN Ratios: 1:5–6 standard (up to 1:7–8 during surge staffing).
- CNA Ratios: 1:12.
- 24/7 In-House Support: Dedicated RTs, Intensivists, Phlebotomy, an IV/VAT Team, and remote Telemetry monitoring with a dedicated Tele tech.
- Technology: EPIC EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell Med Dispensing, and Massimo monitors.
- Note: No HUC on unit; Charge Nurse may take a patient assignment but remains an active resource.
📋 Role Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Minimum 18 months of dedicated MedSurg/Tele RN experience.
- EMR: Minimum 6 months of EPIC experience (exact number of months must be declared upon submission).
- Licensure/Certs: Active RN License, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
- Core Skillset: Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, management of non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), IV starts, blood products, and care for tubes/drains/wounds.
📅 Scheduling & Expectations
- Schedule Cycle: 6-week blocks.
- Weekends: Every Other Weekend (EOW) rotation.
- Holidays: Expected to work 75% of contract-period holidays.
- On-Call: Low census call is possible; call-back capability extends until 03:00 for Night shift.
- RTO: Up to 6 days can be approved (excluding holidays). Note: If RTO prevents you from hitting contracted hours, time must be appended to the end of the contract.
🚗 Mandatory Floating Requirements
⚠️ Regional Float Agreement: This position requires mandatory floating within Region 3 based on hospital system needs. This includes: Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and the Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH).
💰 The Plus: If you are floated mid-shift, you remain on the clock and are fully paid for your travel time between facilities. Please do not apply if you are not comfortable floating within the regional network.
