Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER) | Nights
 

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a travel assignment at Alton Memorial Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced travel nurses and first-time travelers seeking a fast-paced Emergency Department environment that serves patients across all age groups.
 

Assignment Details

• Shift: Nights (3x12 Hours)
• Schedule: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
• On-Call Requirement: None
• Block Scheduling: Not Available
• Floating Requirement: No

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Active state license required
• Fast-paced Emergency Department experience preferred
• Experience with a 1:4 patient ratio preferred

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Preferred Certifications

• NIHSS
• CPI

Unit Highlights

• General Emergency Department serving Adult and Pediatric populations
• Fast-paced environment with diverse patient presentations
• Approximately 85 patient visits per day
• Two dedicated Psychiatric beds
• Five-bed Fast Track/Rapid Assessment area utilized to improve patient flow and reduce wait times
• Sees a high volume of trauma-related cases despite not being a designated trauma center

• Days: 1:4
• Nights: 1:4
• Weekends: 1:4

Emergency & Critical Care

• Triage
• Emergency medication administration
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• 12-Lead EKG/ECG acquisition

IV Therapy & Vascular Access

• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Phlebotomy
• Blood product administration

Respiratory Care

• Care of ventilated patients

Neurological Care

• Stroke (CVA) patient management

Interdisciplinary Support

• Unit Secretary Support

Equipment & Technology

• Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Vocera Communication Devices
