Description
Pathologists' Assistant – Contract Opportunity
- Position: Pathologists' Assistant
- Location: 10833 Le Conte Ave, Room A7-215A, Los Angeles, CA 90025
- Duration: 1-year contract
- Candidates interested in shorter assignments will also be considered.
- Shift: Flexible schedule between 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 1+ year of experience as a Pathologists' Assistant
- Must be PA(ASCP) certified
Eligibility Requirements for PA(ASCP):
1. Education
- Must possess a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a biological or health sciences field.
2. Pathologists' Assistant Program
- Must have successfully completed a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant program
Job Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Chief of Anatomic Pathology, Director of Operations, or Clinical Specialist Supervisor, responsibilities include:
- Description, photographing, and gross examination of specimens
- Assisting with frozen sections
- Supporting the Anatomic Pathology Department
- Preparing and maintaining protocols, procedures, reports, and data
- Assisting with instrument maintenance
- Performing administrative, budgetary, teaching, and other departmental duties as assigned
