Description
Ultrasound Technician
The Ultrasound Technician performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist in detecting and evaluating medical conditions by producing high-quality images of internal body structures.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, vascular, Doppler, color flow, and OB/GYN studies.
- Assist physicians during biopsy procedures using sonographic guidance.
- Evaluate image quality and obtain additional images as needed.
- Prepare and educate patients regarding procedures.
- Document findings and provide preliminary observations to the radiologist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and participate in quality control activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
- Minimum 4 years of ultrasound experience.
- Current ARRT certifications as required.
- Current CPR certification (if applicable).
- Knowledge of professional practice standards and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and evenings as needed.
- Must meet all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
