Description

Title: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics/RRT Pediatrics
Location: Kalamazoo MI
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights 7 PM to 7.30 AM

Position Overview

This position is primarily based in the Children's Hospital and supports:

  • PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)
  • Pediatric patients
  • Adult ICU patients

Therapists may also provide respiratory care coverage on adult inpatient floors as needed.

Important: Candidate must be available for the full orientation week.

Interview Process: Leader interview required.

Schedule & Requirements

  • Call: None
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Must be willing to assist with patient transport when needed

Licensure & Certifications

Required

  • Michigan Respiratory Therapist License
  • RRT (NBRC)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • NRP (AHA)

Experience Requirements

Required

  • Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience
  • PICU experience
  • Pediatric experience
  • Adult ICU experience

Preferred

  • NICU experience

First-time travelers accepted.

Facility & Department Information

  • 440-bed hospital
  • Assignments are based on an RVU (Relative Value Unit) system
  • Average workload: 38 RVUs per Respiratory Therapist
  • Night shift core staffing: 11 Respiratory Therapists
  • Average patient load: Approximately 15 patients per day, depending on acuity
  • ICU assignments typically carry lower patient volumes due to higher acuity levels
