Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – ICU

Location: Lubbock, TX

Job Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 16 weeks (Possible Extension)

Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

Weekly Hours: 48 hours weekly

 

Job Overview:

An ICU Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill or unstable patients who require close monitoring and advanced medical support. ICU nurses work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and play a vital role in assessing patient conditions, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide continuous monitoring and assessment of critically ill patients.
  • Administer medications, IV infusions, and life-support treatments as ordered.
  • Manage ventilators, drips, central lines, arterial lines, and other advanced equipment.
  • Perform frequent patient assessments and document changes in condition.
  • Respond quickly to medical emergencies and perform lifesaving interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Educate and communicate with patients and families regarding care plans.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Assist with procedures such as intubations, central line insertions, and bedside diagnostics.
  • Ensure accurate charting in the EMR and timely reporting of patient status.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of RN ICU experience
  • Arizona or Comapct RN License
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
