Schedule

• Nights: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3x12-hour shifts
• Option for 36 or 48 hours/week

• Weekend rotation as needed

   

Requirements

• 2 years of PCU experience preferred (1+ year considered)
• Cardiovascular experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
• CPI preferred
• Pending NM or Compact license accepted (must be active before start)

Unit Information

• Located at the Heart Hospital
• 55-bed PCU unit
• Average daily census: 38
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4–5
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Common diagnoses:
  • CHF
  • STEMI/NSTEMI
  • Other cardiovascular conditions

Skills Required

• Telemetry monitoring
• Dysrhythmia interpretation
• Cardiac drips
• Post-cardiac cath care
• Post-MI care
• Heparin protocols
• Chest tubes
• BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC
• Central line and PICC care
• IV starts and maintenance
• Wound care and wound vacs

Floating

• Required to float to like units as needed.
• Brief orientation provided for floated units.

Additional Information

• 50-mile local radius rule (locals not accepted).
• Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved.
• All RTO must be submitted upfront.
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as travelers..
• No interview required.
• Scrub color: Any solid color (no logos).
