Description
Position Details
- Position: Physical Therapist (PT)
- Facility: Baptist Health, Montgomery, AL
- Facility Type: 492-Bed Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Primary Stroke Center
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Shift: Days, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours/Week
Schedule & Requirements
- Monday–Friday day schedule
- Weekend rotation: Once per month
- No on-call requirement
- May be asked to assist with Thanksgiving or Christmas coverage
- One major and one minor holiday may be required per facility policy
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be approved
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of experience
- Travelers with 1 year of experience accepted
Required Experience
- Acute Care Physical Therapy experience required
- Experience treating:
- Trauma patients
- Orthopedic patients
- Neurological patients
- Cardiac patients
- Post-operative patients
- ICU patients
- Med-Surg patients
- Adaptable, coachable, and team-oriented personality required
Required Certifications
- BLS
- MSPT or DPT
- Active PT License (as required by state/facility)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform physical therapy evaluations and treatments for hospitalized patients
- Manage a caseload of approximately 10–12 patients daily (up to 15 units/day)
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide therapy services throughout the hospital, including:
- Trauma Units
- Orthopedics
- Neuro
- Cardiac
- ICU
- Med-Surg
- Emergency Department
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehab aides, and interdisciplinary teams
- Document patient care in Cerner/PowerChart
