We are currently seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician / Instrument Processing Tech for a contract opportunity with Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.
Job Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment to support patient care.
Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays
- Operate sterilization equipment according to established procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and safety standards
- Support operating rooms and clinical departments with instrument and equipment needs
- Identify and report damaged or malfunctioning instruments
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous Sterile Processing experience preferred
- Knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
- CRCST or CBSPD certification
- Previous hospital or surgical center experience
