Description
DCH – RN Dialysis (Day/Night Shift)
Key Requirements Summary
Location: DCH Regional Campus & DCH Northport Campus
Schedule: Day/Night Shifts, Holidays as Required, Every Other Weekend
Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
Unit Details
- Regional Campus:
- 8 dialysis bays
- Bedside and peritoneal dialysis
- Hours: Monday–Saturday, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
- On-call Sundays and after-hours
- Northport Campus:
- 4 dialysis bays
- Bedside and peritoneal dialysis
- Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- On-call Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and after-hours
Patient Ratios
- 1:2 (RN to patient)
- 1:3 (RN + CCHT to patient)
Equipment
- Fresenius dialysis machines
- Gambro machines as needed
- Training provided if unfamiliar with either system
Education Required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications Required
- AHA BLS Certification or
- American Red Cross BLS Certification
Licensure Required
- Alabama RN License or Compact RN License
- NURSYS verification
- Temporary licenses are not accepted
Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- At least 1 recent year of Acute Dialysis experience
- Professional Nursing Certification preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English
Ideal Candidate
An RN with recent acute dialysis experience, a valid Alabama or Compact RN license, BLS certification, and flexibility to workday/night shifts, weekends, holidays, call coverage, and float between facilities.

They were really quick about getting me a contract.
Cons
Staff constantly switched. My documents weren't sent to the school, resulting in a months lost pay. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get on touch with anyone to answer questions. I have been attempting to reach them for over a month with absolutely no response! They lose paperwork (tests, immunizations, background checks and fingerprints) resulting in even more lost work.
