Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric patients.
  • Administer oral, IM, SQ, and subcutaneous medications.
  • Monitor and document patient behaviors, mental status, and treatment responses.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed.
  • Support patients with:
    • Schizophrenia-spectrum disorders
    • Bipolar disorders
    • Mood disorders
    • Anxiety disorders
    • Psychotic disorders
    • Substance use disorders
    • Trauma and stress-related disorders
  • Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Follow seclusion and restraint protocols when required.
  • Perform blood glucose monitoring/testing.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Document patient care in Avatar EMR.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Psych/Behavioral Health experience
  • Travel experience not required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Every other weekend required
  • CPI and First Aid required (can be completed during orientation)
