Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health

Location: Elko, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Position in Behavioral Health on the 3rd floor, Adult patient population
12-hour night shifts
Guaranteed 36 hours per week
Every-other weekend rotation
No call requirements
Float to other departments as needed
Unit has 16 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4
Electronic Health Record system: Med Host
Equipment used includes Vitals Machine, EMAR, Omnicell

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience in an inpatient setting within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training

Clinical Focus

Care for adult patients with mental health diagnoses such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Personality Disorders, and Dual Diagnosis (primary mental health)

Work Environment & Culture

Scrubs required; no specific color mandated
Unit supports a young, active community with access to outdoor recreational activities nearby
Fit testing for respiratory protection offered on-site

Additional Notes

Must be located more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify as travel
Weekly orientations provided
