POSITION: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) FACILITY: Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC) 

LOCATION: Highway 264, Mile Marker 388, Polacca, AZ 86042 

AGENCY: Indian Health Service (IHS) — Phoenix Area · Hopi Service Unit

CONTRACT LENGTH: 13 Weeks 

SCHEDULE: 3x12 or 4x10 (confirm with facility)

COMPENSATION

Taxable Hourly Rate: $50.00/hr (W2) Overtime Rate: $75.00/hr (after 40 hours) Weekly Gross (40 hrs): $3,533 Weekly Taxable Wages: $2,000 (40 hrs x $50.00) Weekly Per Diem (non-taxed): $1,533 One-Time Travel Allowance: $500 (paid at start of assignment)

FACILITY HIGHLIGHTS

Hopi Health Care Center is a JCAHO-accredited IHS federal hospital serving approximately 7,000 Hopi and Navajo patients on the Hopi Reservation in northeastern Arizona. The facility operates a 24-hour Emergency Department with SANE responders on-site, a 4-bed Medical/Surgical inpatient unit, and a 2-bed birthing unit. HHCC carries a FAR Code 4 frontier designation — one of the most remote and culturally significant clinical settings in IHS.

LOCATION & HOUSING

Polacca, AZ is located on the Hopi Reservation in Navajo County at approximately 6,000 feet elevation. On-campus tribal housing (Walpi Housing) is available to professional staff at no cost — confirm availability with your DT-Trak recruiter before extending an offer. Government overflow housing is located approximately 11-13 miles away in Keams Canyon. Nearest hotels are in Winslow, AZ (~80 miles SW). Personal vehicle required — no public transportation on the reservation.

REQUIREMENTS

Active RN license (Arizona or Compact) 

Minimum 2 years Emergency Department experience 

BLS required 

· ACLS required

 · TNCC preferred 

IHS credentialing, privileging, and federal background investigation required prior to start
