Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical Surgical unit in Michigan. The RN will work under the supervision of the Med-Surg Nurse Manager and be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor patient progress and update care plans as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Delegate and supervise patient care activities performed by support staff.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and nursing standards.
• Care for a diverse Med/Surg patient population including Oncology, Observation, Hospice, and Medical Surgical patients.

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN License (LARA or Nursys verification required).
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg nursing experience.
• Recent Med Surg Observation experience required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.
• Strong assessment, documentation, and patient care skills.

Required Documents

• Updated Skills Checklist (within the last year, Med Surg specific).
• Two supervisory references completed within the last two years.
• Active AHA BLS certification.
• Active Michigan RN license verification (LARA/Nursys).
• Complete work history.

Schedule & Additional Information

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Facility will consider local candidates (within a 50-mile radius) for one 13-week contract.
