Description
UNIT: PCU
Experience Required: 18 months, will accept a first time traveler with strong experience
Certs Required: BLS, NIH, ACLS.
Charting System/Equipment: Charting: Meditech
IV Pumps: Baxter
Patient Types Travelers are Expected to Care for: Sepsis, respiratory compromise, CHF, COPD, DKA, DTs, Multisystem Failure. Heart caths, ablations, temp pacers, stable TAVRs, 24hr post op CABG, insulin gtts, nitro gtts, heparin gtts, dopamine, dobutamine, levophed (rare), amiodarone gtts (All non-titrating)
Floating: Travelers are first to float. Medical Surgical, Brendan House – LTAC/Nursing Home patients – orientation provided. Behavioral Health (formerly Pathways) is a department of Logan Health Medical Center that provides acute inpatient services for mental health and substance abuse – orientation provided. ICU to take care of IMC level patients
