HIGHLIGHTS:
- Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year minimum with CVICU experience
- Will you accept a first-time traveler: Yes, with CVICU Experience
- Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- CCRN (preferred)
- Skills required: EPIC experience (preferred); Post cardiac assessment, know how to care for circulatory support (IABP, IMPELLA, LVAD, ECMO), titration of vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medication, interpretation of cardiac waveforms, and hemodynamic monitoring.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Beds: 22 Bed ICU
- Census: 20 patients/day
- Patient Ratios: RN: 1:2 CNA: 1:20
- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Surgical and Medical Cardiac Critical Care unit, that cares for patients suffering cardiovascular support. Common seen diagnosis Post operations for CABG, valve replacement/ repair, Impella, IABP management, thoracic aortic aneurysms etc.
- Support within the Department: CNA: ADLs, Blood Sugar, vital signs and transport Receptionist: Unit management of phone calls, and replacement. Yes, 24 Hours Charge nurse: Yes, often in assignment Phlebotomy: Nurse Draw RT 24/7: Yes, allocated in CVICU Intensivist 24/7
- Technology/Equipment: EMR: Epic experience preferred IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips Unit specific equipment: CRRT (nxstage)
- Floating: If yes, where? Yes: within other critical care departments PCU 1:3 MS 1:4
- Orientation (facility and unit): NEO: One Week 2- 3 days departmental
