Description
- Position: Sterile Processing Technician (Travel)
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks (91 Days)
- Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (5x8s)
- Hours: 40 Hours/Week
- Weekend Requirement: Rotating Weekends
- Holiday Rotation Required
- Temp-to-Perm Opportunity
Required Experience
✅ Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience
✅ Level I Trauma Center experience required
✅ Previous travel experience required (First-time travelers not accepted)
✅ Experience with:
- Decontamination
- Sterilization
- Instrument Assembly
- Instrument Wrapping
Required Certifications
✅ CBSPD and/or HSPA (IAHCSMM)
❌ BLS Not Required

- 60-mile radius rule
- Local candidates accepted case-by-case at reduced rate
- MUSC prioritizes non-local travelers
Important Submission Requirements
- SSN required at submission
- All RTO must be submitted upfront
- No RTO changes after contract signing
- Must indicate top-choice MUSC unit if applying to multiple positions
Attendance Expectations
- Facility may cancel 1 shift every 2 weeks
- No more than 2 call-outs without physician documentation
- Excessive call-outs/tardiness may impact assignment
- Travelers are expected to work holidays unless approved as RTO
Hurricane Season Notice
- June–November hurricane season
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
- Peak months: August and September
