Job Overview

• Facility: Prisma Health Richland Hospital
• Location: Columbia, SC
• Position: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Standard)
• Target Start Date: 07/20/2026 (Orientation runs every Monday)
• Hours: 40 hours per week (Guaranteed; facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks)
• Shift: Days | 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)

Job Description & On-Call Structure

Join a high-volume clinical team at Prisma Health Richland. This role requires an experienced surgical tech proficient in cardiac and vascular surgical workflows. While the primary goal is to keep staff in their home unit, travelers must be willing to float to other Prisma Health units or campuses if qualified and requested due to census.

On-Call Requirements

Call rotation will be discussed in detail during the interview, but standard unit tracking ranges by specialty:

• Vascular Call: 7 to 10 days of on-call per rotation (includes a Friday/Saturday/Sunday weekend block).
• Hearts Call: 10 to 15 days of on-call per rotation (includes 2 full Friday/Saturday/Sunday weekend blocks).
• Note: Exact call volume is dependent on department staffing levels.

Requirements

Experience & Certifications

• Experience: Minimum 1+ years of dedicated CVOR experience.
• EMR: Minimum 1-year experience with EPIC is strictly required.
• Certifications: Active BLS.

Crucial System Radius Rules

Prisma Health enforces strict mileage and Tier-3 travel compliance rules. As an OR/Allied specialty (Exception 2), the following radius logic applies:

• 100+ Miles: Eligible for full bill rate ($89.00/hr). Must be 100+ miles away from the flagship hospital (Prisma Richland).
• 50.0 to 99.9 Miles: Eligible, but subject to a 10% bill rate reduction.
• Under 50 Miles: Strictly Ineligible (Local candidates under 50 miles are not accepted).

Compliance & Submission Instructions

• SSN Mandate: You must include the candidate's Social Security Number with the initial submittal packet.
• Requested Time Off (RTO): All RTO requests must be included at the time of submission; approvals are strictly based on facility needs.
• Licenses/Status: Pending licenses are not accepted.
• Pre-Assignment Modules: All travelers must complete pre-assignment testing and training modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
