Travel Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

Location: New Albany, IN
Shift: Day Shift – 4 x 10-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Hours: 40 Hours per Week
On-Call: Night call required 1–2 times every 6 weeks

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room before and during surgical procedures.
• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Scrub and assist surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures.
• Maintain the sterile field throughout the procedure.
• Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts according to hospital policy.
• Handle specimens, implants, and explants appropriately.
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking between cases.
• Support Central Sterile Processing as needed.
• Inspect and report damaged instruments or equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure quality patient care.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) experience.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical Technology Program, or a U.S. Armed Forces Surgical Technologist Program.
• Active BLS (AHA) certification.
• Active NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) certification.
• Strong understanding of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
