Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights (11:15 PM – 7:15 AM)
Schedule: 8-Hour Shifts, 40 Hours/Week

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join a busy Chemistry Laboratory team on a travel contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical laboratory testing, quality control, and instrument troubleshooting while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform and evaluate quality control procedures to ensure accurate testing results.
• Conduct testing in Chemistry and Diagnostic Immunology.
• Process and analyze laboratory specimens including blood, urine, tissue, stool, and other body fluids.
• Perform routine and STAT testing accurately and within established turnaround times.
• Participate in proficiency testing and quality improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic laboratory instrument issues.
• Receive, process, and document laboratory specimens using Meditech and other laboratory information systems.
• Assist with validation and implementation of new laboratory methods and procedures.
• Train and mentor new laboratory staff on departmental policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental meetings and workflow improvement projects.
• Provide on-call coverage as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• MT or MLS certification preferred (ASCP, AMT, NCA, HEW, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years of recent Medical Technologist experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Strong Chemistry laboratory experience required.
• Experience with laboratory information systems and automated instrumentation.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Submission Requirements

• Updated resume demonstrating 3+ years of relevant specialty experience.
• Must be local to the facility.
• Two recent Manager/Supervisor references within the specialty area.
