POSITION IS PRIMARILY FOR ORTHO!!!!! BUT MUST BE STRONG IN ALL SPECIALITIES.

MUST HAVE A STRONG BACKGROUND In ROBOTS ( XI), NEURO, GENERAL, ORTHO, ENT. Vacular  

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Functions as Surgical First or Second Assistant to the surgeon for complex and basic operative or invasive procedures.  Responsible for performing a variety of procedures or may specialize in a surgical specialty where appropriate.  Performs responsibilities of a Surgical Technologist if required but preferably not at the same time while functioning as first assist.

  • Cross trained to all Main OR specialties and Urology center but no floating to other hospitals.


 

  • Orientation:


 

  • 2 weeks: 2 days education / paperwork; 3 days General; 2 days Ortho; 2 days Neuro; 1 day Urology. (Subject to change based on unit needs)


 

  • Scheduling:


 

  • Variable start times for Day shift (Anywhere between 5:30am-7am)


 

  • Weekend rotation: N/A


 

  • Can we approve time off? Check with hiring supervisor


 

  • On Call


 

  • 30 min response time


 

  • General / Neuro
     

    • - AM 3-5 call slots Monday through Friday; 1-2 Saturday and/or Sunday (all in an 8 week schedule)


     

    • *subject to change based on staffing


     

    • - PM 5-8 overnight call slots (all in an 8 week schedule)


     

    • *subject to change based on department needs
