Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry provides comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and treatment for acute and chronic medical conditions. The Telemetry RN assesses patient conditions, monitors cardiac rhythms, administers medications and treatments, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and other acute medical conditions.
• Continuously monitor telemetry equipment and interpret cardiac rhythms, reporting abnormalities promptly.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and other prescribed treatments.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies and procedures.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting positive clinical outcomes.
