Description
ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. is recruiting qualified Registered Nurses for
anticipated school-based private duty nursing assignments supporting Jersey City
Public Schools. The RN will provide one-on-one nursing services to general education
students who have approved Section 504 Accommodation Plans and require medical
accommodations during the school day and related school activities.
The RN will support student health, safety, medical care continuity, documentation, and
coordination with school-based personnel. Assignments may occur at various school
sites within Jersey City Public Schools, and nurses must be available to travel between
assigned school locations when required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide one-on-one private duty nursing services to students with approved
Section 504 Accommodation Plans.
• Deliver student-specific nursing care based on the student’s medical condition,
physician orders, school requirements, and applicable nursing standards.
• Support students who may require assistance with medical technology or
medical interventions, including insulin pumps, EpiPens, catheters, medication
administration, diabetes management, seizure response, and other medically
necessary supports based on the assigned student’s care needs.
• Monitor student condition during the school day and respond appropriately to
changes in health status.
• Participate, when requested, with the I&RS / Section 504 Team in identifying
student goals, objectives, and necessary health-related supports.
• Assist with development and implementation of treatment services designed to
meet identified student goals and objectives.• Maintain familiarity with Section 504 requirements and the role of nursing
support in school-based accommodations.
• Complete accurate nursing documentation, service logs, care notes, incident
reports, and written reports required under Section 504 or by the District.
• Assist with preparation and submission of District-required reports by providing
complete documentation and records of nursing services.
• Coordinate professionally with the Building Nurse, school administrators,
teachers, related service providers, parents or guardians as authorized, and
NDGCS account management.
• Support the Building Nurse when the assigned student is absent or dismissed
early, as directed by the school.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with all applicable
privacy, student safety, and school district policies.
• Report student safety concerns, including harassment, intimidation, bullying, or
suspected abuse or neglect, according to school district policy and applicable
law.
• Follow school site procedures, emergency protocols, medication procedures,
and infection control practices.
• Maintain professional conduct, punctuality, reliable attendance, and appropriate
communication at all times.
• Travel between school sites when required for student coverage or District-
directed service needs.
Minimum Qualifications
• Active and unrestricted New Jersey Registered Nurse license required.
• Current CPR / BLS certification required.
• Prior pediatric, school nursing, private duty nursing, medically fragile student, or
one-on-one nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting students with disabilities, Section 504 plans, IEP-related
health needs, or school-based medical accommodations preferred.
• Ability to perform nursing duties within the RN scope of practice and in
accordance with New Jersey requirements.
• Knowledge of medication administration, diabetes care, emergency response,
catheter care, seizure protocols, allergy response, and other student-specific
nursing supports preferred.
• Ability to complete accurate clinical documentation and written reports.
• Ability to work in a school environment with students ages 2.5 through 21.
• Ability to communicate professionally with school staff, families, healthcare
providers, and NDGCS management.
• Reliable transportation required for travel between school sites when assigned.• Must be able to meet all pre-employment and school district onboarding
requirements before starting an assignment.
Required Documentation Before Assignment
• Active New Jersey RN license.
• Current CPR / BLS certification.
• Resume showing relevant nursing experience.
• Professional references, as requested.
