Contract Duration: July 12, 2026 – September 5, 2026
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the Respiratory Care team at a busy Level I Adult Trauma Center. This position is ideal for a respiratory therapist who excels in acute care, critical care, emergency response, and mechanical ventilation while providing exceptional patient-centered care.
The Respiratory Therapist will assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and respond to respiratory emergencies in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients and verify physician orders before initiating respiratory treatments.
- Administer respiratory therapies, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and medical gases.
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record.
- Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments and disease management.
- Respond to emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and rapid response events.
- Perform respiratory and pulmonary procedures according to departmental policies and clinical protocols.
- Set up, maintain, and disinfect respiratory therapy equipment.
- Assist with medication administration and inventory management of respiratory supplies.
- Participate in interdisciplinary patient care rounds and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection prevention guidelines.
- Attend department meetings, continuing education sessions, and required in-service training.
Equipment Experience Preferred
Candidates should have experience with:
- PB 980 Ventilator
- PB 840 Ventilator
- V60 Non-Invasive Ventilator
- Epoc Handheld Blood Gas Analyzer
- ParaPac Plus Transport Ventilator
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Respiratory Therapy experience
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Active state Respiratory Care license (or eligible to practice)
- Current BLS Certification (AHA)
- Current ACLS Certification
- Strong critical care and mechanical ventilation experience
- Excellent communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills
