Requirements

Minimum 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience
Pediatric OR experience required
Cardiac OR (CVOR/Pediatric Cardiac) experience required
Must live at least 1 hour away from the facility
Active CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) certification required
BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required within 90 days of hire
Associate's Degree preferred

Call & Weekend Requirements

Every 6th weekend on-call
Weeknight call required
30-minute response time when on call

Responsibilities

Maintain sterile technique and surgical field during procedures
Prepare instruments, supplies, medications, and equipment for cases
Perform surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments)
Assist with patient positioning and safety during procedures
Participate in preference card management and case-cost optimization
Precept and support education initiatives for other Surgical Technologists

They were really quick about getting me a contract.

Cons

Staff constantly switched. My documents weren't sent to the school, resulting in a months lost pay. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get on touch with anyone to answer questions. I have been attempting to reach them for over a month with absolutely no response! They lose paperwork (tests, immunizations, background checks and fingerprints) resulting in even more lost work.
