Shift Notes

12 hr nights

Required Qualifications

EPIC proficiency required (no onsite training provided)
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Recent experience in a Level I Trauma Center or large hospital (500+ beds)
Strong time-management skills for a high-volume unit
Excellent teamwork and positive attitude
Reliable attendance; no more than 2 call-offs

5 South Hematology/Oncology Unit Requirements

Fingerprinting

Remote process: Must be completed at least 10 days before start date
In-person process: Can be completed at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Jackson Campus or University of Mississippi Medical Center Grenada Campus during the week prior to start

Vaccination Requirement

Flu vaccine is required at University of Mississippi Medical Center
Deadline: November 15
Only medical exemptions are accepted
Exemption requires documented evidence from a healthcare provider of a prior severe vaccine reaction

Preferred Qualifications

At least one prior travel nursing assignment with a reference (highly preferred)
Oncology experience

Unit Information

5 South Hematology/Oncology

Oncology certification (ONC/OCN) is not required
Candidates with oncology experience are preferred
Manager is willing to teach nurses how to administer chemotherapy
Good opportunity for nurses seeking hematology/oncology experience and chemotherapy administration training

Weekend Requirement: every other or 2 weekends per month is standard, could be higher to meet needs of department - Holiday Requirement: rotate in with regular staff - Is there Call or a Standby requirement?: no - Floating Requirements?: within skillset, all staff float between all medsurg units. higher acuity patients would be given to core staff
