Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry
Location: Acute Care Hospital
Unit: Med Surg / Telemetry – 2 West
Shift: Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with strong acute care and telemetry experience who are comfortable caring for a diverse adult patient population.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage (typically 2 of 3 major holidays)
- Floating required to Med Surg, low-acuity ICU, RDU, and Foothills Clinic RDU as needed
- No blocked scheduling requests
- Maximum of 5 days of requested time off (RTO)
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions using Epic EMR
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Care for patients with diagnoses including pneumonia, COPD, acute kidney injury (AKI), post-operative laparoscopic cholecystectomy, appendectomy, and other medical conditions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Unit Details
- Unit: 2 West – Medical Surgical/Telemetry
- Beds: 90 (double occupancy)
- Patient Ratios:
- Days: 1:5–6
- Nights: 1:6
- Dedicated telemetry monitor technicians (travelers are not required to interpret telemetry)
- Patient Care Assistants available
- Respiratory equipment includes BiPAP and stable tracheostomy care
Requirements
- Active RN License (required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience
- Recent Trauma Level I or II hospital experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency (recent experience required)
- BLS Certification (required)
- ACLS Certification (preferred)

- Start dates are not flexible
- 100-mile radius rule applies (local candidates are not eligible)
- No 48-hour guarantees
- One day of nursing orientation, one clinical education/Epic training day, and one floor orientation day
- Navy blue scrubs required
