Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced, fast-paced Travel Registered Nurse for a high-volume, 8-week post-surgical assignment at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI. If you excel at multitasking, have a strong team-first mindset, and thrive in a Level II Trauma environment handling rapid admissions, this short-term contract is perfect for you!

Facility Details & Unit Highlights:

• Facility: Aspirus Wausau Hospital (Level II Trauma Center)
• Unit: Post-Surgical Care Unit (PSCU) – 40-bed inpatient unit caring for adult and geriatric post-op patients.
• Volume: Highly active unit averaging 10–15 admissions per day.
• Patient Ratios: 1:4–1:5 on Days/PMs | 1:5–1:7 on Nights
• Charting System: Epic EMR (with Rover medication scanning)
• Dress Code: Flexible! Any color solid scrubs are accepted.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years of recent inpatient acute care Med-Surg/Post-Surgical experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience is strictly required.
• Level II Trauma Center experience is required.
• Active Wisconsin or Compact RN License.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC).
• Strict Radius Rule: Permanent residence must be 50+ miles away from the facility.
• Must be comfortable with rotating 12-hour shifts and floating to other inpatient units as needed.
