Description

Provide direct nursing care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgical procedures.
Serve as a scrub nurse and/or circulating nurse for open-heart and vascular surgeries.
Prepare the operating room, ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and functioning properly.
Maintain a sterile surgical environment and adhere to infection prevention protocols.
Monitor patient safety throughout the surgical procedure, anticipating the needs of the surgical team.
Assist with complex procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements/repairs, aortic surgeries, and other cardiovascular interventions.
Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, surgical technologists, and other interdisciplinary team members.
Respond effectively to emergency situations and rapidly changing patient conditions.
Follow facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Adapt quickly to new clinical environments and workflows while maintaining exceptional patient care.
