Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (Interim DON) – Roles & Responsibilities

• Directed and supervised daily nursing operations to ensure high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance within the rehabilitation facility.
• Performed comprehensive patient assessments and coordinated individualized care plans for rehabilitation and skilled nursing patients.
• Administered medications, IV therapies, wound care, and other prescribed treatments while monitoring patient outcomes.
• Supervised, mentored, and supported nursing staff, ensuring appropriate staffing, workflow, and clinical performance.
• Collaborated with physicians, therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Ensured compliance with state, federal, CMS, and facility policies, infection control standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintained accurate clinical documentation, incident reporting, and regulatory records using the facility's documentation systems.
• Participated in leadership meetings, staff education, and quality assurance activities to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Active RN State License.
• Active BLS Certification.
• Experience in Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing (SNF), or Long-Term Care (LTC).
• Leadership experience as a Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant DON, Unit Manager, or Charge Nurse preferred.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation nursing, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and quality improvement.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
