Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care | Texas
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care
Location: Texas (Hospital Setting)
Discipline: Nursing – Wound Care
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (91 Days)
Shift: Days | 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with some Saturdays as needed. Weekend availability required as needed.
On-Call: None
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in a hospital setting. The Wound Care RN is responsible for providing specialized care to patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and continence-related conditions. Using the nursing process, the RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote optimal healing and positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and manage patients with acute and chronic wounds, ostomies, and continence-related conditions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized wound care treatment plans.
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments and monitor healing progress.
- Provide patient and family education on wound care management and prevention.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Delegate patient care appropriately while supervising assigned personnel.
- Adhere to hospital policies, state Nurse Practice Act, and evidence-based clinical standards.
- Maintain clinical competency through continuing education and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN License or Multi-State Compact RN License.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum 2 years of recent Wound Care RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wound, ostomy, and continence care in a hospital environment.
- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
Schedule & Assignment Details
- 13-week travel assignment
- Day shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Monday–Friday schedule with occasional Saturdays as needed
- Weekend availability required when scheduled
- No on-call requirements
Required Certifications & License
- Active Texas RN License or Multi-State Compact RN License
- BLS (American Heart Association)
