Travel CVOR RN / Tech – Milwaukee, WI
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Shift: 8-Hour Days (1100 – 1900), Monday – Friday
Duration: 13-Week Contract (40 hours/week)
Setting: Level III Trauma Center & Magnet Designated Hospital (938 Beds)
Position Overview
Join a top-tier surgical team operating in a high-volume, fast-paced 8-bed CVOR unit averaging 10 cases per day. We are seeking experienced, highly independent surgical professionals. Please note: This facility does not accept first-time travelers.
Open Roles & Experience Requirements
- CVOR Registered Nurse (RN): 2+ years of strong CVOR background. (Note: Travelers will act as Circulating RNs only; 1:1 patient ratio).
- Surgical Technologist (ORT) / Surgical Assistant (SA): 2+ years of CVOR experience. Must be a graduate of an accredited school.
- Anesthesia Technician: 1+ year of experience. Must be able to operate blood gas, TEE, and ultrasound machines. (Will float between CVOR, Main OR, and Cath Lab).
Clinical Scope & Specialties
Candidates must be able to work independently with minimal guidance across a highly complex caseload:
- Cardio & Thoracic: CABG, TAVR, Valve Replacements, Fem-Pop Bypass, Lead Extractions, Generator Exchanges, and Heart Transplants.
- Robotic Thoracic: Lobectomies and hernia repairs utilizing the DaVinci XI system.
- Systems: EPIC Charting (required for RN/Tech/SA), Alaris, and Pyxis.
Schedule, Call & Policy Details
- Hours: 40 hours/week. Strict fatigue policy enforces a maximum cap of 60 hours/week.
- On-Call Requirements: Rotating call based on staffing. Expect ~1 weekend per month (24-hour block) and 3–4 overnight shifts per month.
- Call Response: Strict 30-minute response time required (no sleep room available on-site).
- Holidays: On-call only, as needed.
- Time Off: Up to 7 days can be pre-approved.
