We are actively seeking experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurses (MS RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at Summa Health Akron Campus, a busy acute care hospital in Akron, Ohio.
This is a fast-paced 36-bed Medical/Surgical Unit caring for adolescent through geriatric patients with a broad range of medical and post-surgical conditions. Candidates must be confident managing diverse patient assignments while delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5ā1:6

Responsibilities:
Ā
As a Medical Surgical RN, you will:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with medical and surgical conditions.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor patient status.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments safely.
- Care for post-operative patients recovering from various surgical procedures.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Monitor for changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, medications, treatments, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR.
- Float to other compatible units as needed.
- Follow infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
- Participate in rapid response situations and emergency interventions when required.Ā

Requirements:

Experience
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical RN experience
- Experience in a busy acute care hospital required
- Previous travel experience preferredĀ
License:
- Active Ohio RN License or Compact RN License (if applicable)Ā
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA) RequiredĀ
Education:
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE Accredited Nursing ProgramĀ
EMR:
- Epic experience within the last year is REQUIREDĀ
Scheduling Requirements:
- Night Shift
- 3x12-hour shifts
- Floating Required
- Maximum 7 Days RTO
- No RTO during the first two weeks
- No Block Scheduling Requests
- Candidates requesting block scheduling will be declinedĀ
