Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled, resilient, and flexible Operating Room Registered Nurse to join the General Team at a premier Level II Trauma center in Wausau, WI. This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment featuring 21 ORs averaging 45 cases per day.

Position Highlights

- Consistent Day Hours: 8-hour variable day shifts with a predictable call rotation.
- Call-Back Peace of Mind: Enjoy a 2-hour minimum call-back pay structure.
Key Responsibilities & Scope
- Function confidently as a Circulating Nurse across multiple surgical specialties.
- Manage a variable day schedule and participate in the on-call rotation (6-8 weeknights and 1-2 weekends per 13-week contract).
- Maintain a strict 30-minute response time when on call (must have a reliable personal vehicle; rideshares are not permitted for call obligations).
- Be open to floating to nearby sister facilities (Merrill, Langlade, Medford, and Stanley) on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated OR experience and at least 1 completed travel assignment.
- Large Facility Background: Proven experience working in a comparable, large-scale facility (20+ ORs).
- Clinical Skills: Circulate capability is required (Scrubbing is a plus). DaVinci Robotic and Trauma Level II experience are absolute musts.
- Certifications: Active WI (or Compact) RN License, AHA BLS, and ACLS.
- Radius Rule: Candidates must permanently reside outside a 50-mile radius of Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
- Policy Compliance: Must adhere to hospital masking policies during flu/COVID season if vaccinations are declined.
Compensation Notes
- 36 hours of low census unbillable hours are permitted under this contract (on-call rules apply if low-censused).
- GSA hours are not guaranteed during the orientation week.
