Job Title: OR Registered Nurse (RN) – Neurovascular Surgery
Location: EinsteinII – Care Career Facility
Specialty: Operating Room – Neurovascular / Complex Cranial & Spine
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (90 Days)
Schedule: 4x10.5 Hour Shifts (Approx. 06:30 AM – 05:00 PM)
Holidays: Required to work any holiday that falls on a scheduled shift
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) with strong Neurovascular surgical experience for a travel assignment in a high-acuity surgical environment. This role involves supporting complex cranial, spinal, and neurointerventional procedures in a fast-paced OR setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neurosurgical procedures and the ability to function independently in advanced surgical cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity neuro OR setting.
- Assist surgeons during complex cranial and spinal procedures.
- Circulate and/or scrub in neurovascular surgeries as assigned.
- Ensure patient safety before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and adhere to OR protocols and infection control standards.
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and surgical equipment for advanced neurosurgical cases.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs.
- Document surgical procedures accurately in the appropriate clinical systems.
- Participate in patient positioning, monitoring, and intraoperative support.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Must pass Nursys License/Certification Verification.
- Minimum 2 years of Neurovascular OR experience (required).
Required Neuro Surgical Experience Includes
- Transsphenoidal pituitary surgery
- Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT)
- GammaTile brachytherapy implantation
- Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) procedures
- Other complex cranial surgeries
- Complex spine surgeries
Preferred Skills
- Strong experience in high-acuity neuro OR environments.
- Ability to assist in multiple OR roles (circulating/scrubbing).
- Familiarity with advanced neurosurgical technology and instrumentation.
Schedule & Assignment Details
- 13-week contract (90 weeks listed system entry)
- Day shift: 06:30 AM – 05:00 PM
- Holiday coverage required if scheduled
- No mention of on-call requirements (facility dependent)
Compliance Notes
- Travelers without a break in service exceeding 90 days may not need to complete a new compliance packet if all annual requirements remain current.
