Travel RN – Stepdown Job Description
Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown Unit (PCU)
Job Type: Travel/Contract (13 Weeks)
Shift: Day and Night shifts available (typically 3x12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 36 hours/week (weekends and holidays as required)
Start Date: ASAP (varies by assignment)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to Stepdown/Progressive Care patients requiring close monitoring.
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and identify changes in patient status.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation using the facility's electronic medical record (EMR).
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state license or Compact License, as applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
- Telemetry experience required
- Previous travel experience preferred (facility dependent)
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred, depending on facility)
