Schedule: Days | 5x8s | 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Call Requirement: 1–2 times/week (7:30 PM – 11:00 PM)
 

Job Description:

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in a fast-paced Operating Room environment.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based patient care throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases.
• Prepare and maintain operating rooms, surgical equipment, and sterile fields for procedures.
• Circulate and support multiple surgical specialties while ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize surgical outcomes.
• Utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to prioritize patient needs and respond to intraoperative changes.
• Perform patient assessments and ensure compliance with surgical safety and infection prevention protocols.
• Document all patient care activities accurately within Epic EMR.
• Participate in patient positioning, surgical preparation, specimen handling, and procedural support.
• Support efficient room turnover and maintain workflow throughout the surgical schedule.
• Participate in call coverage, weekend support, and holiday coverage as required by department needs.
• Maintain compliance with hospital standards, nursing protocols, and quality initiatives.
• Deliver care in a Magnet-designated teaching hospital environment.
