Pay Package (Travel)
- Weekly Gross: $3,070.00

Schedule
- Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 3x12-hour shifts
- 48 guaranteed hours/week
- Every other weekend rotation
- Program: SimpliFi Travel
Facility Overview
Eastern Maine Medical Center is a 411-bed Level II Trauma Center and the closest trauma facility within a 50-mile radius, including air flight services. The Intermediate Care Unit has 12 beds and manages a high-acuity, mixed patient population.
Patient Population
- Cardiac: STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, AFib with RVR, post-cardiac cath, post-ablation, 24-hour post-op TAVR
- Neuro: Strokes, stable craniotomies (coils or clips), CIWA, seizure precautions
- Medical/Surgical: Respiratory illnesses (COVID, Flu, Pneumonia), long-term trachs with vents, respiratory failure requiring BiPAP or High Flow O2, COPD exacerbation, post-op general surgery, sepsis, IVDA, thyroid storm
- Trauma: Level II Trauma patients
Patient Ratios
- RN: 1:3–4 (Days & Nights)
- Tech: 1:6–12 (Days & Nights, dependent on staffing)
Experience Requirements
- PCU/Intermediate level of care: Minimum 1 year
- Med/Surg with some PCU exposure: Minimum 2 years
- First-time travelers not accepted — must have completed at least 2 prior 13-week assignments
- Trauma experience required; experience with stroke patients and Q2H neuro checks required
- Insulin drip and cardiac drip experience required (candidates without this will be declined)
- Charge nurse experience — please note in submission whether candidate has CRN experience
Required Skills
- Cardiac: Temporary pacemakers, TR bands, post femoral sheath care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, cardiac drips (Amiodarone at set rate, Cardizem)
- Drips: Insulin titration, cardiac drip management
- Respiratory: High Flow O2, BiPAP, chest tubes, trach care and suctioning, experience with vented trach patients (100% FiO2 via suction support, alarm management)
- Wound Care: Wound VAC/VAC dressing changes
- General: IV starts, drain/ostomy care
Required Certifications
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
Preferred Certifications
- AACN, CCRN

- EMR: Cerner (highly preferred — non-Cerner candidates sent to manager for approval)
