Description
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and physicians in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, rehabilitation centers, and home health settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Perform wound care and dressing changes.
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
- Communicate patient status to RNs, physicians, and healthcare teams.
- Educate patients and families on care plans and medications.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
